The proposal faced disapproval because the route lacks a significant concentration of educational institutions and offices. The study found that the line wouldn't meet the required 14,000 passengers per hour during peak hours, compared to the projected 20,000 for the Koyambedu-Avadi and Poonamallee-Paranthur extensions. hai. Siruseri se Kelambakkam tak Metro extend karne ka feasibility study submit kiya gaya tha, lekin low ridership ki wajah se reject kar diya gaya. Is route pe school, college, office kam hone ki wajah se yeh proposal fail ho gaya. Study mein aaya ki peak hours mein sirf 5000 passengers aayenge, jabki Koyambedu-Avadi and Poonamallee-Paranthur extensions mein 20,000 expected hain. Is decision se local residents, khass kar Siruseri ke IT employees ko disappointment hui hai. Par, Metro Rail Corporation ab Kelambakkam se Thiruporur tak, aur shayad Mahabalipuram tak, ek alternate route pe kaam kar rahi hai.
