Construction of 21-km tunnel in Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project expeditedThe construction of the 21 km long tunnel for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project is progressing rapidly. A 394-meter long tunnel, called an Additionally Driven Intermediate Tunnel (ADIT), has been excavated at Ghansoli. The ADIT will provide direct access to the main tunnel during construction and emergencies. Its excavation, which took...

This method allows for simultaneous tunneling from both sides. The 21 km tunnel will include a 7 km section under the Thane Creek intertidal zone, making it the first of its kind in India. The tunnel will have two tracks and will be constructed using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) with 13.6-meter diameter cutter heads. Three shafts at BKC, Vikhroli, and Sawli will facilitate the construction of the 16 km tunnel using TBMs. The NHSRCL aims to complete the project by 2028, reducing travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to three hours.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project ke liye 21 km lamba tunnel ka construction bohot jaldi chal raha hai. Ghansoli me 394-meter lamba tunnel, jisko Additionally Driven Intermediate Tunnel (ADIT) kehte hain, khudwa diya gaya hai. ADIT construction aur emergency ke time main main tunnel tak direct access dega. Iska excavation, jisme 6...

Is method se dono taraf se saath-saath tunnelling ho payega. 21 km tunnel me Thane Creek intertidal zone ke neeche 7 km section bhi hoga, jo India me pehle kabhi nahi banaya gaya. Tunnel me two tracks honge aur isko Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) se banaya jaayega, jisme 13.6-meter diameter cutter heads honge. BKC, Vikhroli, aur Sawli me three shafts banaye jaayenge, jo TBMs se 16 km tunnel banane me madad karenge. NHSRCL ka target hai ki project 2028 tak complete ho jaaye, aur Mumbai se Ahmedabad tak ka travel time three hours tak kam ho jaaye.
