05907 Dibrugarh - Naharlagun Inaugural Special leaving the Dhemaji station on 25th December, 2018 for the very first time.
The two locomotives of the train are the shed-mates from DLS Siliguri (SGUJ), NFR. Both are dual-cab 4500hp EMD locomotives, the one sandwiched is WDP4D 40189 and the other in extreme is WDP4D 40442. They were not running in MULTI UNITS, (MU), only 40442 was powering the train, 40189 was just acting as spare.

Shri Sudarshan Nayak, Commissioner of Railway Safety, N.F. Circle, Kolkata has inspected the newly constructed B.G. line from North Lakhimpur to Sripani on 12.3.15 & 13.3.2015 of Rangiya Division. At first he conducted Motor Trolley inspection from North Lakhimpur to Sripani and then speed Train trial run from Sripani to North Lakhimpur for opening of the section for passenger traffic.
The gauge conversion of North Lakhimpur to Sripani (82 Km) is a part of North Lakhimpur to Murkongselek (154 Km) of Rangiya – Murkongselek (511.88 Km) gauge conversion project.
