Unnecessary ? I thought the single BURN-ASN is creating a bottleneck to run more trains via TT line. If this line can be used for passenger trains then more trains can be restored without affecting BURN-ASN line. I think Shatabdi was supposed to run via MOH ?
Bypassing Asansol Jn. is never going to be accepted under any circumstances. For betterment ASN-BURN is on the way of doubling. Not Shatabdi but a dedicated train to PRR was thought via MOH though hasn't seen any light yet.

Is this train punctual? How is the rush? I have to go to Purulia, Bokaro and Chas for inspections. I have to be at Purulia by 11:30 AM. Having heavy instruments with me I can't afford a MEMU/passenger this time. Any suggestions!
