This Journey happened in the month of January 2020, on my way to Chennai, I split my journey in Trichy, since I couldn't manage a confirmed ticket from Madurai itself. With the Trichy - Chennai journey ticket successfully booked in Night rider Rockfort Express; I explored the options to reach Trichy. Initially wanting to do a bus Journey in one of those non-stop buses, I ditched the idea after returning from Vaigai River bridge, due to the extreme heat. It forced me to stay confined in the cool comforts of my room for that extra hour or so. Thus I opened the IRCTC app and booked myself a ticket on board the 22628 Intercity Express coming from Thirvunanthapuram, in current; since the train had already departed from its source. This video showcases the short trip I undertook on board this train to Trichy.

badrinarayanand 275 blog postsWith doubling about to be completed in this section, this train needs to be detached from Guruvayur express, and run as separate train. The 1 hour layover time at Maniyachi Jn. can we done away by this move.
Moreover, if Guruvayur Chennai Exp gets delayed due to some reason, this train still can proceed unaffected.
With lots of conventional rakes getting relieved...

In the last ever Trip that I went on before the Lockdown started, I had been to Toothukudi (Tuticorin) for a training. For my return Journey, I decided to visit Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of 6 abodes of Lord Murugan in Tamilnadu. From there, I boarded the 16106 Tiruchendur - Chennai Egmore Express. This train is the only express train plying in the Tiruchendur - Tirunelveli branch line; it's coach composition and their positions are more or less fixed, owing to platform length issues of the station in this route. Therefore, the coach board indicators of all the halts in this route for this train are printed and displayed on Poles.
