The food on Kalka Mail is not just awful, but also expensive. They charge Rs. 100 or so for a set of tasteless food.
Same are the charges for normal Non-veg food (egg-rice) in 12810-12809 Howrah Mumbai Howrah Mail (Via Nagpur)...
bit ahead!!, when poorva comes to price to quality ratio, they charge more and give you some food with excess of chilli or salt..! Well it is not general opinion it is my personal Experience !
It is very boring train for speed after KANPUR central/Mirzapur/Mugalsarai. It is always late after these stations and never reaches on time at howrah. (At least 3 hours late)
well, usually it is very true about kalka mail but several times i had seen that the train reached HWH on time
And some times it reached BWN before time also ( 14mins early when i was travelling, it happened on 2nd april 2015 @ BWN)
But still It has A better punctuality Than Poorva Express

The train is mostly late by 30 to 45 mins on an average when it reaches ALD. One correction - it lands up on pf#6 at ALD most no. of times.
