Aapko shayad malum nahi ki Azamgarh se Varanasi ke lie kitne passengers hai?
Itne passengers hain ki UPSRTC ke pas buses nahi hain..."Anubandhit" private buses chalani padti hain is route par aur dusre depot ki buses bhi
Azamgarh roadways par 2 depot hain Azamgarh depot & Dr Ambedkar depot

Ji, aapke Jaunpur me 8+2+2 bg lines hai to wah aapke lie great & important hai...humare Azamgarh me sirf 1 bg branch line hai magar phir bhi Azamgarh humare lie great & important hai.
Ji insan ko apne watan, gaon, shahar aur zile se lagav hota hai...wah jagah uske lie great hoti hai.

Bahraich-Shravasti-Balrampur-Khalilabad new railway line is already sanctioned. Survey also completed. Now only sanction of DPR by RB is awaited.

Yes, Azamgarh has a rail line but it is branch line and only 17 pairs of train runs from Azamgarh station, so its not enough for 46.13 lakh (census 2011) people of Azamgarh dist. Because of that dedicated train to Delhi & Mumbai...

For a new railway line project to be profitable its Rate of Return (ROR) should be at least 14%.
Now see ROR of these new rail lines in NER (All are in minus)-
1. Basti-Kapilvastu ------------- 91 kms -1.16%

Ji politics is deeply rooted in Indian railways. Introduction of 35 trains in three years from Ghazipur district is a good example. Only 34 trains till now fron Azamgarh

Bhai Azamgarh me Sathiaon Sugar Mill ko chhodkar koi bhi factory nahi hai na hi koi industrial area hai. Islie yaha koi rozgar bhi nahi hai aur hum log apna gaon, watan chhodkar dusri jagah kam karne ko majbur hain. Kyon???
Iski ek wajah Azamgarh me achchha transport ka na hona bhi hai. BSB-AMH-GKP rail line will bring new industries in Azamgarh resulting in new employment opportunities...
Saree industry of Mubarakpur will get a new lease of life by this line...so not wastage, it's requirement.

2 reasons for this -
First is lack of good infrastructure (transport, power supply etc.) & Second is higher crime rates
