Booking Preference Tip.
If you have to travel from Delhi to Coastal Odisha , then your train availability searching priority should as: (For SL class)
1. Purushottam express (No doubt about this train;Book this as your 1st preference)
2. BBS Duronto express (only for Bhubaneswar people ; Punctuality is poor; But very safe and secure as no unreserved or daily travellers are allowed to

Punctuality is very good.
Punctuality very good ??? Kya bol dia aapne sir...Its Excellent. Balasore pe Utkal aur Purushottam do train aati hain at midnight from Delhi, but Puru majority 1-1.30hr delay rehti hai but Utkal humesha ontime.
But kharabi yeh hai ki Koi leta hi nahi hai from Delhi to Coastal odisha. Itna circular journey kaun kare. ;)
Western odisha jyada prefer karte hain Utkal.
Actually ham Rourkela waalo ke liye Utkal bahut achhi train he, punctuality pe kabhi sawaal ni uthata and Rourkela waalo ko WAP7 ke darshan bhi Utkal hi karaati he.
Thats right...ECoR ne more faster ANVT BBS SF de di for western odisha, but woh kabhi bhi on time nahi chalti. Always 4-5hrs delay.
But this old horse Utkal always stay on time whatever be the season. Best preferred by Wetern odisha only.
actually mein iska route kaafi zyada lambaa h . bt i hv travelled in this train till tatanagar from NZM it was late bt after that the LP came into aggressive mode nd bang !!!! it reached before time at PURI

Yes...the pantry standard is average below standard.....Instead good pantry is present in Odisha sampark kranti which serves good quality food as per my last journey experience.
But then we have to compromise on Punctuality factor if we check on pantry quality.
I hv traveled from PURI to NZM in Kaling utkal exp. Punctuality is good but it covers very long route
Agree..Longer route but Journey time is very long with Huge amount of halts.
No one prefers Utkal because of its route
delhi to Odisha travelling people don't like Utkal exp but the people of MP , specially from jabalpur side (Boarding from Katni) and going to Balasore-Bhadrak, people still prefer Kalinga Utkal due to its punctual and direct route.
End to End people don't prefer but Intermediate travellers prefer it very much due to its good seat availability.
No of reservations are very less in this train . Mostly general ticket holders and daily passangers use this train.

There are 7 trains fŕom DLI to BBS but why not a single train via BE.
BE and MB needs a train to BBS and Puri
The reason is absolute stoppage of starting any new train for odisha.
The last train that was started for odisha to north india was ANVT BBS Weekly SF which was for Western Odisha on the same departure slot as of Odisha Sampark kranti.
After that till now there is NO trains started. All the RM have completely ignored to connect Puri , a one of the Biggest tourist destination with Jammu-Katra or Haridwar or Amritsar North Indian cities.
Yes there should be train JAT-PURI via LDH-UMB-SRE-BE-SCC-GKP-CPR

Hirakund is a good option actually...
Nandan Kanan and Neelachal are hardly punctual...
Problem with Hirakund is Huge Number of Halts and very slow TT with Heavy inflow of MST/UR travellers between Delhi-Bina.
Whereas in nandan Kanan , the rush is bit less as compared to Hirakund....If ECoR somehow Speed up Hirakund express (which is easily possible) , then i would say it can climb up to atleast Rank 2.
Problem is that a train with as much halts as Hirakud will need little more slack...
I wont deny that its not feasible...
Ofcourse its feasible, at the same time too much halts should be removed.
P.S: removing stops aint that easy :P :P
Pinned down correctly.....Once a Halt is introduced, it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to remove that halt.

But we ppl of Balasore could never see TKD WAP-7 of Utkal exp as both up and down trains arrive here late at night... isliye hum Rajdhani k WAP-7 se kaam chala lete hain... so till now only 2 trains of Odisha r getting WAP-7 from start to end... Duronto ko kabhi kabhi as an offlink mil jati hai WAP-7 but very rarely..Purushottam should get it upto Puri instead upto KGP..

BE and MB koi chhote cities to h nhi jo aap kah raje ho ki jarurat nhi . Ab train nhi h to LKO ,CNB ya NDLS se train board karni padti h BE MB walo
Ab aise me kaise pata chalega ki BE mMB se kitne passanger baithte h.
I am telling about people boarding from these cities. Not much people from those side reside in Odisha not much people from Odisha reside on that region
I agree MB and BE are big cities but demand won't be much to Odisha than any other place
A dedicated train to Puri - MB won't be a hit but yes a train goin via these place to another place will be hit
But Puri and BBS is religious destination. So many people go there

If asking about Purushottam express, then yes this train have charging sockets in every SL coach near every seat. Its LHB coaches.
All The SL coaches doesn't have charging socket near each seat.
As it has total 5 set of rakes, out of which some coaches have sockets near seat and the older ones have sockets near the main door.
As per new time table 15630 Guwahati- Chennai Egmore Express will halt at Cuttack Jn (21.55- 22.00) from 01/10/2016.

This is the most punctual train between Howrah- Bhubaneswar, runs 6 days (except Sunday) a week. Most of time it reaches at Cuttack junction 5 to 15 minutes before its schedule arrival time. Its average speed is 65 km/hr (as per IR time table). This train was introduced to run from Bhadrak to Howrah and Howrah to Bhadrak in 2002-03 Rail budget and later on it extended upto Bhubaneswar. East Coast Railway has decided to run 12073/12074 Bhubaneswar -Howrah- Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express daily w.e.f. 3rd July 2016 instead of earlier six days in a week, with an aim to provide comfortable journey to the commuters.
24X7 Prepaid Auto rickshaw available at two exit points of City side/Ravenshaw University side, organised by Commisionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. The distance or route rates are fixed by RTO, Cuttack. You have to give only Rs 2/- towards service charge for obtain your route receipt for your destination, final payment have to paid as per given receipt at your destination point. You can taste Odisha famous Dahi Bara-Aloo Dum, just out side of the station area (college Square side). You will find verity taste buds like Gupchup (pani-pooree or Golgappa), Charts, Lassi at college Square area, within a walkable distance 250mtrs from Platform No 1.
Same also available between BBS to PURI, very testy....
But the taste of Dahi Bara-Aloo Dum is unique only at Cuttack
on my bbs trip,i tried that and loved it.its very good considering the the climate,which is humid for most of the time.
