Agree. Even i was small i used to visit from Delhi to Faridabad just to see the high speed run of premium trains. But unfortunately i have moved to Bangalore for job here i visit hoodi wherein the trains will be at its mps generally the Shatabdi here will be at 115 kmph or something it will touch 120 kmph. But for other people by looking at the avg speed of bpl shatabdi and cnb shatabdi they tell Cnb Shatabdi is faster.
i have travelled about 15 times in BPL shatabdi on both 12001 and 12002.. and believe when you hear the sound of train when running at 150 that's something else.. Kanpur shatabdi became faster with avg speed ... that's fine.. But just think when kanpur shatabdi was not there...Bhopal shatabdi use to did NDLS - BPL in 7 hrs 45 mins = 91 km/hr... more...
avg .... then due to addition halts its time table slowed down to 7 hrs 55 mins and 8 hrs and avg came down to 89 after Lalitpur , morena ,dhaulpur halts added.. when it was extended to habibganj finally it slowed down to 84 ... But still the work that bhopal shatabdi do in one day..no other shatabdi is comparable to that...CNB shatabdi gets good time for maintainance but think about bhopal shatabdi..
for your help i will make IMG on both the routes with current top MPS of the routes and top speeds between 2 halts...then we will see who goes faster .. Btw i had already made NDLS-BSB tejas about 1.5 years back with top speed possible..you can see in my IMG

Yes they will have to design a completely new route. It's going to take a long time. Present route not possible to lay second line in most of the stretches. Regarding crossings in Ghats they do allow. Also these days they are running tankers on Braganza Ghats. Today I spotted one at SVM. Anyways how long do you think doubling of CLR LD would take ?
At least for a start they could try and operate the MAO-ERS weekly express from Vasco. And if that is possible, could also explore operating the sampark kranti express. I had written to both NR and SWR to extend Goa SK to Vasco but always useless replies. Platform no issue 24 coaches VSG can accommodate pitline only 21 coaches but VSG PNBE running with 23 coaches already.
