Bhai dhanbad divsion sabse jyada thaga hua hai . ECR ki total revenue ka 40%+ income dhandad division se hota hai, aur dhanbad division ka 40% income singrauli and nearby areas se. Par connectivity ka alam yeh hai dhanbad division end to end connect hai ( i mean sgrl to dhn ) WCR ki train se ie shaktipunj exp .Along with weeklies which are from SER , NWR ,WR . But not a single train from ECR to connect it's area with ECR marked rake . Pata nahi rail board ko kyu nahi dikhta yeh area .
Apart from DHN , KQR , PNME , GMO other stations of dhn division where revenue from passenger train is generated are neglected and

WAP4's are well proven and very reliable for long runs. WAP7's were initially not used for very long runs, and only in the past few years have they gradually started regular long distance haulage. The type of locomotive is not the reason for the loco reversal/change.
The route via ALLP was only completed in 1992 and Kerala express used to run via KTYM all the time (The bypass was also constructed only in the mid-80's). CHTS used to have a dedicated train to Delhi ( Jayanti Janata) which was cancelled to regularize Kerala express. As a compensation, the Kerala continued to reverse at ERS to provide a daily connection for ERS.
There is no particular limit on how much a loco can travel in a single run. Being a high priority train, Kerala gets a fresh WAP4 at ED to reduce the chances of a loco failure on the long trip. In addition, the reversal at ERS also makes it easier to use Kerala express to ferry locos from ERS to ED for maintenance instead of running them light.

Few years ago there was talk of Venad and Kerala (the only 2 trains to have loco reversal) avoiding loco reversal at ERS and instead save time by directly going through ERN.....easily 1 hour could be saved. But i guess passenger associations strongly opposed the same especially for Venad express which is used as a option for office goers. ERS is relatively more convenient and moreover during that time metro works had just started and thus traffic bottlenecks was also highlighted as a reason for them to revert back to ERS
