So I want to share my journey experience from Delhi to my hometown, Prayagraj. This is part-1 from Anand Vihar to Kanpur.
Some of you might remember that I had to travel to Dehradun for an important work as I had used the help of this site for planning my journey. So after my work was done in Dehradun I decided to head to Delhi as I thought that since there are much more trains to Prayagraj from Delhi it will be easier for me to find a ticket, and "Damn! I...
more... was so wrong".
So skipping through all my struggles for booking a ticket from Delhi to Prayagraj for four days constantly I'm gonna come down directly to the mystery of finally getting a ticket from Anand Vihar to Kanpur Central in Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Vande Bharat. Actually I had a ticket in Zingbus from Anand Vihar to Prayagraj but considering the situation of huge traffic jams in Prayagraj on Sunday 9th February, I was in no mood of taking that bus and instead cancelled that ticket and booked in Ayodhya Vande Bharat upto Kanpur in Executive Chaircar. Even though there was a 100 waiting in CC class and 20 waiting in EC class, my ticket got confirmed and there were few seats vacant in CC as well, so don't know how exactly ticketing system works in IR.
So now about the journey in Ayodhya Vande Bharat the journey was smooth, the train was clean and punctual and the food was decent as well but unfortunately in the executive class some people can afford the tickets but cannot afford the civic sense, there was a group of six friends traveling together and they were super loud, unhygienic and absolutely crappy with no regards of other's comfort. Even though I ask them to tone down their noises and even asked the TTE to intervene but they would only get silent for 5 minutes and were back to making noise after, therefore I decided instead of spoiling my mood because of them let's focus on the world outside. So about the journey, our Vande Bharat was immediately overtaken by Varanasi Vande Bharat at Sahibabad Jn and after that our train was running pretty smooth at 130 till Etawah Jn, after that it was trolled by AF-LJN Intercity as most of the loop lines were either had empty rakes of a Kumbh Special train or a freight train, so we trailed that Intercity upto Panki Dham station where we finally overtook it (we also overtook Yoga Express at Ghaziabad JN and TDL-GHY Special at Firozabad). Finally we reached on time (or maybe it was 5 mins delayed but it's negligible in IR) and there were many people like me who were doing this journey in parts to Prayagraj. Finally I deboarded at Kanpur Central where there was a decent amount of crowd occupying the platform but I quickly moved to the AC waiting hall at Platform 1 and that waiting room was in terrible condition as like that station. This was my first time stepping foot on Kanpur Central and I realised that both Lucknow Charbagh and Kanpur Central are mesmerizing from outside but terrible from inside and hopefully station redevelopment work happen soon in both these super important stations (although Kanpur Central still has many working facilities, LOL)
So to sum it up the part 1 of my journey, I can say that the ride was smooth, quick and decent if it weren't those six stupid people around me, it would have been great. The fencing work has slowed down a lot but still most of the distance is now completely fenced off, I believe they have changed the sleepers of the rail as well because the ride quality was super smooth it never felt like the train was running at 130 constantly. Also all the loop lines were filled with empty Kumbh Special rakes or a freight train, so NCR is doing tremendous job of running trains back to back.
Now the next part of my journey was in a Special train, so stay tuned for a Special journey in a special train with Special people around me (LOL), it's in a 3rd AC coach so don't keep your hopes high or maybe you can.

After finishing my work in Dehradun, I decided to go to Delhi because I thought there were many more trains to Prayagraj from Delhi, making it easier to find a ticket. Damn, I was so wrong.
After struggling for four days to book a ticket from Delhi to Prayagraj, I finally got a ticket from Anand Vihar to Kanpur Central on the Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Vande Bharat. I had a Zingbus ticket from Anand Vihar to Prayagraj, but considering the heavy traffic in Prayagraj on Sunday, February 9th, I cancelled it and booked an executive chair car ticket on the Ayodhya Vande Bharat to Kanpur. Even though there was a 100-person waiting list in CC class and a 20-person waiting list in EC class, my ticket was confirmed, and there were even a few vacant seats in CC. I don't know how the IR ticketing system works exactly.
The Ayodhya Vande Bharat journey was smooth; the train was clean and punctual, and the food was decent. Unfortunately, in executive class, some people could afford the tickets but not common sense. A group of six friends were very loud, unhygienic, and inconsiderate of others' comfort. Even after I asked them to quiet down and requested the TTE's intervention, they only became quiet for five minutes before starting again. So, I decided to focus on the world outside instead of letting them ruin my mood. Our Vande Bharat was overtaken by the Varanasi Vande Bharat at Sahibabad Jn. After that, our train ran smoothly at 130 kph until Etawah Jn. Then, it was slowed by the AF-LJN Intercity because many loop lines were occupied by empty Kumbh Special train rakes or freight trains. We trailed that Intercity until Panki Dham station, where we finally overtook it (we also overtook the Yoga Express at Ghaziabad Jn and the TDL-GHY Special at Firozabad). We arrived on time (or maybe five minutes late, which is negligible in IR), and many people were traveling in stages to Prayagraj like me. I deboarded at Kanpur Central, which was crowded, but I quickly went to the AC waiting hall on Platform 1. That waiting room, like the station, was in terrible condition. This was my first time at Kanpur Central, and I realized that both Lucknow Charbagh and Kanpur Central are impressive from the outside but terrible inside. Hopefully, station redevelopment work will happen soon at both these important stations (although Kanpur Central still has many working facilities, LOL).
To summarize part 1 of my journey, the ride was smooth, quick, and decent. If it weren't for those six obnoxious people, it would have been great. The fencing work has slowed, but most of the distance is fenced off. I think they changed the rail sleepers because the ride was very smooth; it never felt like the train was constantly running at 130 kph. All the loop lines were full of empty Kumbh Special rakes or freight trains, so the NCR is doing a great job running trains back-to-back.
The next part of my journey was on a special train, so stay tuned for a special journey on a special train with special people (LOL). It's in a 3AC coach, so don't get your hopes up… or maybe you can.
please wait...Translate to Hinditoh main apna Delhi se mere ghar Prayagraj ka safar ka experience share karna chahta hu. yeh Anand Vihar se Kanpur tak ka part-1 hai.
aap mein se kuchh ko yaad hoga ki mujhe ek important kaam se Dehradun jaana pada tha aur maine apni journey plan karne ke liye is site ki madad li thi. toh Dehradun mein mera kaam khatam hone ke baad maine Delhi jaane ka faisla kiya kyunki mujhe laga ki Delhi se Prayagraj ke liye kaafi zyada trains hain, ticket milna aasaan hoga, aur "Damn! main bilkul galat tha".
toh Delhi se Prayagraj ticket book karne ki meri saari mushkilon ko skip karte hue main seedha is mystery pe aa raha hu ki mujhe akhirkar Anand Vihar se Kanpur Central ke liye Anand Vihar-Ayodhya Vande Bharat mein ticket kaise mila. actually mere paas Anand Vihar se Prayagraj ke liye Zingbus ka ticket tha lekin 9 February, Sunday ko Prayagraj mein jam ki situation ko dekhte hue, mujhe us bus mein jaane ka mann nahi tha aur maine woh ticket cancel karke Ayodhya Vande Bharat mein Kanpur tak Executive Chaircar mein book kar liya. bhaale CC class mein 100 waiting aur EC class mein 20 waiting thi, meri ticket confirm ho gayi aur CC mein kuchh seats khali bhi thi, toh pata nahi IR ka ticketing system kaise kaam karta hai.
ab baat karte hain Ayodhya Vande Bharat ki journey ki. journey smooth thi, train saaf aur punctual thi aur khana bhi decent tha, lekin unfortunately executive class mein kuchh log tickets afford kar sakte hain lekin civic sense afford nahi kar sakte. chhe dost ek saath travel kar rahe the aur woh bahut loudly baat kar rahe the, unhygienic the aur bilkul crappy the, doosron ki comfort ki koi parwah nahi thi. maine unse softly baat karke awaaz kam karne ko kaha aur TTE se bhi intervention karne ko kaha, lekin woh sirf 5 minute ke liye chup hote aur firse shuru ho jaate, isliye maine socha ki unki wajah se mera mood kharab karne ki bajaye bahar ki duniya pe focus karu. toh journey ke baare mein, hamara Vande Bharat Sahibabad Jn pe Varanasi Vande Bharat se immediately overtake ho gaya aur uske baad hamari train 130 ki speed se smoothly chalti rahi Etawah Jn tak, uske baad woh AF-LJN Intercity se troll ho gayi kyunki zyadatar loop lines pe ya toh Kumbh Special train ki khali rakes thi ya fir freight train, toh hum us Intercity ko Panki Dham station tak trail karte rahe jahaan hamne finally use overtake kar liya (hamne Ghaziabad JN pe Yoga Express aur Firozabad pe TDL-GHY Special ko bhi overtake kiya). akhirkar hum time pe pahunch gaye (ya shayad 5 minute late, lekin IR mein yeh negligible hai) aur bahut log mere jaise the jo Prayagraj ke liye yeh journey parts mein kar rahe the. akhir mein main Kanpur Central pe utar gaya jahaan platform pe decent amount of crowd tha lekin main jaldi se Platform 1 ke AC waiting hall mein chala gaya aur woh waiting room station ki tarah hi terrible condition mein tha. yeh meri pehli baar Kanpur Central aana tha aur mujhe ehsaas hua ki Lucknow Charbagh aur Kanpur Central bahar se mesmerizing hain lekin andar se terrible aur ummeed hai ki dono hi super important stations pe jaldi station redevelopment ka kaam ho (bhaale Kanpur Central mein abhi bhi kaafi working facilities hain, LOL).
toh apni journey ke part 1 ko sum up karte hue, main keh sakta hu ki ride smooth, quick aur decent thi agar woh chhe bewakoof log mere aas paas na hote toh yeh bahut hi achcha hota. fencing ka kaam bahut slow ho gaya hai lekin abhi bhi zyadatar distance completely fenced off hai, mujhe lagta hai unhone rail ke sleepers bhi change kar diye hain kyunki ride quality super smooth thi, kabhi aisa nahi laga ki train constantly 130 ki speed se chal rahi hai. saare loop lines pe ya toh khali Kumbh Special ki rakes thi ya fir freight train, toh NCR trains ko back to back chalaane ka tremendous kaam kar raha hai.
ab meri journey ka next part ek Special train mein tha, toh ek special train mein special logon ke saath special journey ke liye stay tuned (LOL), yeh 3rd AC coach mein hai toh zyada umeed mat rakho ya shayad rakh bhi sakte ho.
