You cant change geographical location. You can cry for not enough connectivity towards North India, but same analogy can justify apathy of ASANSOL for not getting enough connectivity towards South India and northeast, which Malda enjoys by miles than Asansol.
Maldah have far more south bound trains than Asansol. Politicians are doing on their behest. That's true for extension of Farakka express to Balurghat; again same is also true for creation of a divisional head quarter in Malda town keeping in abeyance of a far bigger city like Bhagalpur. So it comes home to the Roost. Isn't it?

Farakka express ko Balurghat tak badhane ki baat sahi hai; yeh baat Maldah mein divisional head quarter banane ke liye bhi sahi hai, Bhagalpur jaise bade sheher ko chhor kar. Toh yeh sab saaf hai, nahin?
