One single WAG9/9H can easily handle loads that usually require 2 WAG5's. As CLW is increasing the WAG9 production year-by-year, the WAG5's are being modified for passenger use (All it takes is re-wiring the Traction motors to 6P ). G7 will continue in the freight service for a long time. But the WAG5 class can soon replace the WAM class as a good mixed-use locomotive due to the relative ease with which the TM's can be re-configured to suite various purposes.
