Hello, While booking the ticket through irctc website, they charged transaction charges of 1.65 to 1.8% on credit cards. I would like to know if these charges are applicable on total amount value of the ticket? Basically, I want to understand how the transaction charges are calculated?

Ticket 200 irctc service charges 20 service tax on service charge of irctc @15% is 3 so now total 223 transaction charge @2% 4.46 so total charge for you is rs 227.46 this is just an explanation for calculation. The calculation is same for any online transaction
