Yelahanka-Penukonda Doubling and Electrification.

Here are few pics and info I gathered on this project on my way to the new line in Telangana: /blog/post/2793250.

more... The doubling work is pretty much the same at most places as I had said in June. The land levelling from YNK to TDV is done and now overgrown by weeds too. The concrete base for the electric poles are completed. Minor bridges are constructed. Few major ones are complete or nearing completion. The flyovers too are at end stage, so the travellers on Yelahanka-Hindupur highway can breathe a sigh of relief in a few months.
2. I didn't take any pics till TDV, as in news recently it was said that all new rails are diverted to North for track renewal, so all doubling and new line work in KA have stopped. The whole project seems to be in a limbo. Land acquisition is always a major hurdle for new line and doubling. Here that is done, but funds for construction and availability of new rails seems to be the hurdle.
3. After TDV though some developments are on... sleepers are being laid on ballast and track too has been laid with some intermittent gaps at LCs or bridges till DPE. Many stations are getting new PFs.
4. From DPE till PKD again levelling is done at some places and at some places, base for the poles are constructed or under construction.
5. From DMM to ATP, I couldn't make out if any work has started for land levelling but after KLU the Penna river bridge is under construction. The base, pillars are like half way done. It will surely take a lot of time to complete that bridge. Hopefully the single line electrification between KLU-GTL finishes by March.
6. It was nice to see SBC division doing good work as far as elimination of LCs are concerned. As I had said earlier - Hosur route, TK and this route lot of RuBs are being built to eliminate LCs.
