My proposed Alignment for Una-Talwara Line connectivity with Pathankot Line..
As per my proposed alignment, railways can connect Una-Talwara line with Mirthal railway station. The line can be joined just before the beginning of Beas river bridge to avoid construction of another bridge for this new line & unnecessary loco reversal can be avoided at Mukerian Railway Station. The New line should be constructed towards Pathankot facing not Jalandhar side facing. Otherwise every train will require loco revarsal at Mukerian & lot of time will be wasted.
Lets hope Railway

completes Daulatpur-Talwara line soon so that further connectivity can be done... Making Una-Talwara line as an alternate route to Pathankot-Jammu-Katra section.

In 1990's there was a railway track & level crossing in Mukerian.. intersecting the Jalandhar Pathankot national highway & this railway line was linked with Talwara town.. But now if tge government wants to restore this link then Una-Talwara line should be linked near Mirthal beas bridge outer to avoid unnecessary loco reversal and construction of another bridge on beas river. Linking this track with Mukerian is quite awkward as changing the train direction opposite to Pathankot doesn't make any sense. Also they may need to elevate the national highway to link this track with Mukerian railway station as the highway is running parallel with the railway tracks & the line is comming from the backside of the highway... So I don't think its good idea. Best location is Beas Bank cabin near Mirthal railway station.

Even I tried to understand the meaning of this L-section.. May be they are referring to a bypass line. BBMB stands for Bhakra-Beas Management Board.... Right..?? I think it would be a wise decision if they construct a bypass line..!! Lets hope for the best..!! Abhi to filhaal Talwara tak hi track ban ne mein bohot tym lag jaayega ☹️

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
