I've booked 5 tickets for this train for tomorrow on 25th Oct. but i'm not sure whether the train will start on time or not. as the Falaknuma exp which started today from HWH was diverted via NGP. plz let me know whether the refund is automatically credited without cancelling on irctc. need opinion on this.

1) Refund is auto if the train is cancelled for E Tkts issued by IRCTC
2) Always 3 Hrs rule is applicable & can be taken full refund with submission of TDR

can a person file a TDR before the train departs from that station knowing it will be more than 3 hrs late..since he might travel by some other connection ..or he should file TDR only when the train has departed more thn 3 hrs late from his journey stn ??
TDR can be filed only after charting is done before that you will not get TDR option.
but per rule # 3 it says if request for refund (TDR) is filed online after departure then no refund ..so does it mean i have to assume tht the train will be more than 3 hrs late n file my TDR before departure ..wht happens if the train covers up lost time n comes inside of being 3 hrs late while i have already filed fr the TDR ??
