This train might be restored back to its original route HWH-ROURKELA once Barbil gets Intercity service. SER don't have choice this time since Odisha CM is pitching hard to transfer RKL (will be given division status too) under ECoR zone .

SER requests railway board to reconsider halt of 20817/18 and shift it to Purulia.
CASE REOPENED.
The scheduled halt at ANR creates total freight instability throughout the section. On 10th February, 2018, 12 UP freight in the section had to be transferred to DN line to clear for Rajdhani. This left a huge mess behind. The halt even added to the misery. SER has suggested the board to reconsider and chage the whole timetable of 20817/18.

Are you from odisha ? Please check stats for SBP and ROU.Don't compare apples with oranges
Looks like this train never reached on time since it got extended to SBP..People of SBP could have played it smartly by demanding a new train instead of getting this bullock cart extended.Arriving SBP at midnight and leaving early morning won't do any good for coach maintenance .

railfan.z^~ 13777 blog postsIf they'd have moved this on the JHS - KTE- BSP route on the 15:55 Rajdhanis slot (free on Thursdays), not only would it have reached 2 hours earlier but also on this freed up 17:05 slot of Thursdays through NCR they could've introduced Agartala Rajdhani. But seriously, who wants to apply brains.

Same way we can extend Bilaspur Rajdhani to RKL ? No,right ? So let other places have a rajdhani service .Why the fuss ?
This Rajdhani is purely concentrating on western odisha and Jharkhand (CKP) which earlier had no Rajdhani service even after years of demand.
