Dear Amir what is "simple" Ticket . You mean I-Ticket or PRS ticket. There is no simple ticket in IR.

If it is e-Ticket then you can take another print from the your home page after login to irctc or if you booked from the agent then you can ask him to give another copy. If it is I-Ticket or PRS ticket (Window Ticket) then you the rules for lost ticket is as follows.
You can get a duplicate ticket if it is rac or confirm ticket. If it is a waitlist ticket then you cannot get the duplicate ticket . Just go to any railway station and You have to contact the supervisor at PRS (Passenger Reseravation system ) office and tell him about your lost ticket and He will ask some query like name of the passenger , age
...
and if you give correct answer then he will issue a duplicate ticket and you have to pay 25% of total charges for duplicate ticket.

Commercial web portal of Indian Railways which is going to launch soon will have following features.
Only authorized users will be able to login and access the designated section/subsection of the portal based on their profile.
users will able to login in the portal and can see the history of their bids/ reservation of berths, retiring rooms / complaints raised/ other reports applicable
Journey

planning
passenger can plan his journey before booking his/her tickets. This system will have fields to select trains, stations, class, dates along with price and availability
information. A major additional functionality over and above existing in sites like www.irctc.co.in or www.indianrail.gov.in are visibility of alternate routes and alternate trains with one or more changeovers.
e-ticket
The e-ticketing (print your own ticket) functionality would be similar to the existing in www.irctc.co.in with additional functionality of booking for trains with alternate routes/ trains with one or more changeovers directly from Journey planner with facilities of payment gateways for the customers to pay through various e-payment modes. I-ticketing (printed tickets) functionality would not be
incorporated in this solution. Cancellation of e-tickets facility should be provided with requisite pre defined rules in place. History of booked/ cancelled tickets needs to be maintained for each authorized user. Selected IR administrators will be able to track and trace booking/ cancellations and refunds. Booking will be based on photo identity card details.
E-auction of Passenger tickets:
For some routes/trains combinations, few berths would be reserved for auction in the upper classes of travel. An open auction should be facilitated which would be opened for few hours before the train departure. Credit card registrations and enablement of payment gateways would be some of the additional functionalities desired out of the system. Auction tickets can be cancelled with higher penalties compared to normal penalties.
Retiring Room booking:
Customers can see the availability and book/ cancel retiring rooms online using this portal. For booking retiring rooms, one has to have a valid ticket with PNR no.
Lodging and tracking complaints:
Customers will be able to lodge/track complaints online under pre-defined categories like theft, misdemeanor etc through online form based entry screens. RPF/GRPF will be able to generate FIRs against the complaints (in case required) and respond to the complaints. The solution will be integrated through mail server and every response will be sent to the customer email id in the database. Also a robust approval workflow engine will be in place with alerts and notifications for proper automated routing of complaints and resolution. An automated workflow system based on hierarchies, authorizations, automated escalations and other business rules. Complaints is the first functionality in it, but the system will be scalable to include other functionalities in future, such as, internal task assignment, all communications etc.
information about Passenger business:
Updated information about Tariff, Routes, Rules and Regulations in Passenger business will be made available to the customers in the commercial portal.
Parcel Business:
All the rules and regulations regarding parcel booking/ cancellation, parcel traffic,
commercial rules, and tariff information are given in static web pages which are updated regularly by content management authorities.
E-auction of empty rakes in freight:
The rakes which transport goods in one direction for a customer may have to return empty to the origin or nearby points after unloading. Indian Railways have seen a potential in some of the routes where the empty rakes in reverse routes will be booked for one-off/ periodic orders at discounted rates and hence can be opened for auction.
Station siding profile:
The commercial portal will display this information through web enabled services.
Commodity class information provides information about, commodity name, class
applicable, numeric code etc., what all charges applicable along with freight, distances for a pair of station, traffic restrictions imposed by Division/ Railway/ Board.
Migration of existing IR websites:
the existing IR websites will be migrated in a single instance and will be accessed through the commercial portal. These contain zonal railway information, new railways initiatives and dynamic train enquiries. All the portal contents will be rationalized for reducing redundancy of information and improving
navigation. The migrated websites will be bilingual (Hindi and English)
and lot more features . Happy surfing soon!!

It is a simple way to search how many coach of higher class like 3ac, 2ac, 1ac in most train in IR. search between last 6 ARP days of any train (in this case last 6 available days are 20 Dec to 30 Dec ) from and you will get a idea of how many coach are attached in a train. There are some trains in IR which has exception to this , but mostly you can find by this way. It will give you an Idea how many coaches are in a particular train .
General quota Seats are as follows

not providing this feature in e ticket booking site unnecessary crowed /traffic is seen at PRS window and PRS booking area .
to avoid the unnecessary traffic at Railway station area/PRS Roads please suggest the Railway Ministry in this regard.
This will also help reduce to fuel oil import bill burden on the country/Time and carbon foot print.
Thanks & regards
