why replied in 3 different posts??? :P
anyways, your main premise is correct, and is something i agree to i.e. state boundaries should have nothing to do with zone boundaries. Also, lesser zones=better operation. But try as hard as you may, we can never, ever undo the damage bought upon us by "Hajipurisation", so the only alternative we have is to try and work around what we have, not where we ideally should be, hence why i wrote that post.
The second problem is of centralization of power, until RB doesn't start delegating
...
administrative responsibilities to zones, we are only going to see isolated instances of development in divisions farthest away from zonal HQ.
slack and all that are things of secondary concern; the primary concern is getting trains that are 'relevant' i.e. useful to people staying along intermediate stations. this is the main gripe of people above: they have few trains with decent quota towards major cities. Once we have trains we can then think about where to and where not to give slack.
I won't comment on xyz zone delaying abc train, for my comments on such topics can rapidly invite a bunch of trolls here to abuse me :P :P zonal patriotism is a thing here, and i'm not keen on tackling them.

ideally Fahrenheit :P although considering how IR whines about losses in passenger section, and then goes on to introduce obvious loss making trains (weird time slots, departure in wee hours of day etc) i should say Centigrade :P
PS: there is one more scale too, called Rankine which pretty much no one uses :P :P

“Do you want to destroy” the world famous Taj Mahal, the Supreme Court asked the government on Thursday.
.
The scathing remarks by the apex court came during the hearing of an application seeking its nod to cut over 400 trees to lay down an additional railway track between Mathura in Uttar Pradesh to Delhi.
.
“This (Taj Mahal) is a world famous monument and you (government) want to destroy it? Have you seen the recent pictures of Taj? Go to the internet and have a look at it,” a bench comprising Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta said.
.
“If you want, then file an affidavit or application and say that the Union of India wants to destroy the Taj,” the bench said.
.
The apex court, which is dealing with a petition filed by environmentalist M C Mehta, has been monitoring development in the area to protect the historic Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz in 1631 and which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

.
Mehta, in his PIL, has sought protection of the Taj from the ill effects of polluting gases and deforestation in and around the area.
.
The apex court had earlier passed a slew of directions on the issue of protecting the iconic monument.

Death rate>Birth rate
Birth rate below 2 isn't really sustainable, and leads to ageing population (already evident in developed countries, especially Japan) and then more deaths than live births. Even in India, the south of this country (i.e. South of Narmada) will also see this increase in population of old people and then higher death rates than birth rate by next decade's beginning.

Life expectancy at birth is also expected to increase being 71 year in 2025-30 to 74.2 years in 2045-50.
So you cannot exactly tell that death rate at present scenario, rather when growth will be slow past 2050 then that situation prevails.

Matsyagandha Superfast
12619 (towards MAQ) halts at Khed and Mangaon as its departure timing from panvel helps people leaving from college/office return back home at MNI/KHED , but 12620(towards LTT) skips both stops and directly halts at Panvel after departing from Chiplun.
