1 Miraj - Pandhrpur BG has opened for passenger traffic on 20/02/2011.
two express and two passenger trains are started on the route many more are expected.
2 Kudachi - Bagalkot line has been sanctioned in last budget ( Kudachi is just 25 Km from Miraj)

Its bad news for kolhapur. If this train is made daily train in next budget it will be a set back to start a new train via kurduwadi-sur/lur so friends from kolhapur think upon this and try your level best to divert this train via shorter route or we have to wait for another 4-5 years for this dream train.
I have posted this in public grevience section of indian railways twice before but i think it is not enough.

brilliant! your guess is absolutely correct my native place is near miraj.
but i am down to earth person, i know nobody will pay attention even if i will die hunger striking. instead of this if a lot of people of miraj-sangli -kolhapur write to concerned authorities they will understand the importance of the issue and necessary steps will be taken!

what do you want to prove?
this is a relatively new train and timings are also not suitable till now. if you inquire to the local people the unreserved coaches are full.
it will be used more and more by the people of this region and schedule will be definitely revised. in future ice rake will be used for this and then you will see this train will also be wait listed.

i heard from my freind that due to this miraj pandharpur broadgauge goa to kolkata and goa to nagpur will be a shortest distance.is it correct?

peoples from Latur, Osmanabad will not prefer this train to reach Solapur
as MSRTC buses take less time and near about same fare
more over it is not providing better connectivity at Kurduwadi to reach Pune-Mumbai
