For the very first time, Sealdah WAP 7 + Sealdah Rajdhani 🤩❤️ !!

In frame: Sealdah (SDAH) WAP 7 # 30330 (fitted with Kavach & retrofitted with HOG) skipping Dakshineswar with 12313 Up Sealdah - New Delhi Rajdhani Express often referred to as the " Queen of ER " by rail enthusiasts.

already had the distinction of loco shed & train having the same name i.e. Howrah based loco (WAP4 / WAP 7) hauling their most prestigious train, Howrah Rajdhani Express. After Sealdah got its own share of WAP-7 locomotives, rail enthusiasts have been dreaming of this one day when a Sealdah WAP -7 will haul Sealdah Rajdhani. Finally, all our prayers have been answered and ER bags one more distinction of such loco+train combination.

It feels bad to see Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhani still waiting for Tejas rake allotment. Mumbai and AK rajdhani and even Patna rajdhani has been given Tejas rakes. Clear cut politics is the reason for ignoring Hwh and Sdah Raj.

I was thinking yesterday night, there is no space to construct a new Bridge between DAKE & BLYG. Swami Vivekananda Bridge/Willingdon Bridge/Bally Bridge is still going strong at 95 yrs old. At 2029, the bridge will turn 100 yrs & will be outliving its capacity period as per Indian Railways rule. Construction of this Bridge was started in 1925 & was thrown open for rail & road on 1929.
