In a boost to the suburban rail project the South Western Railway (SWR), Bengaluru division, has received Rs 30 crore for the expansion of Bananswadi Mainline...
Development of BAND is a welcome move.
Unless doubling of routes aren't completed, IR and its passengers will continue to face the ill effects of skeletal infrastructure.

Does South Western Railway mean only Bengaluru and Karnataka also mean only Bengaluru !!! Are there no other places in KA & SWR !!! People of Belagavi, Kalburgi, Ballari, Vijayapura, Raichur, Mangaluru have been requesting for trains to the capital since decades, they are not even cared. No pitlines at any of these stations, leave Kalburgi which is not utilised, thanks to SWR, SCR, SR & CR. There is so much demand to run DEMUs in Gadag-Hubbali-Dharwad and Davangere-Hubbali-Dharwad lines but SWR/IR are deaf to those demands.
The pitlines coming up at BYPL will also be utilised to run inter-state trains and will be made useless for the state.

I will shave my head off if they can add a track between Lottegollahali to Yeshwanthpur. Infact Yelahanka Yeshwantpur doubling too is a joke as after reaching Lottegollahali its back to single line till Yeshwanthpur. Trains are stuck as usual on this section.
