Metros & MMTSs both are popular & remain full. Traffic Jams on roads are responsible for this. Another imp point is cost. Metro will fetch mostly 1st class tarvellers of MMTS but will not affect 2nd class where Metro line is parallel to Rail line (i.e. along Mumbai Highway)

Metro may successfully reduce some cars/bikes on roads, though, if it hasn't already. And why would it snatch FC travellers from MMTS? Is it faster, cheaper or more frequent than MMTS?

Yes, metro is frequent & cheaper but only for occasional travellers (i.e. not for MST)
