JHANSI: Just few days after the tragic Indore-Patna Express train mishap, which claimed around 150 lives, panic gripped the passengers of train no. 12944 (Udhyogkarmi Express), going towards Jhansi from Kanpur, after they heard some unusual noise coming from one of the coaches on Friday morning.
The terrified passen gers stopped the train by pulling the chain until the railway's technical team rectified the fault. The train remain halted at the station for about three hours.
According to reports, as the train, after leaving Kanpur for Jhansi, had approached towards Rasoolpur area, the
passengers heard some unusual sound coming from the coaches.
They pulled the chain and raised an alarm. A message was immediately flashed to Jhansi railway station by the guard, and af ter few hours the technicians came and rectified the snag. The train got delayed for about three hours.
Vineet Singh, ADRM Jhansi, said, "One of the bogies had developed a snag, technically known as flat tyre in which the wheel rotation is not proper because of jammed brakes.The snag was rectified and the train was allowed to move towards its destination".
