This timely action prevented two trains, Train No. 16345 (Mumbai LTT-Thiruvananthapuram Central Netravathi Express) scheduled to leave Udupi at 3 AM, and Train No. 16595 (KSR Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express) scheduled to pass through the area at 4 AM, from being involved in an accident. KRCL Chairman and Managing Director Santosh Kumar Jha commended Shetty's vigilance and awarded him a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Senior officials including Gopalakrishnan and Mohan from Udupi were also present to acknowledge Shetty's actions.
