Slowly some progress is going on. One such demand and wait for decades for connectivity is in North Karnataka, Bagalkot district.
The Bagalkot-Kudachi line will connect the Gadag-Solapur line to Hubballi-Miraj line.
Having anticipated for some news about the line progress in media and also from others, I just couldn't hold back my curiosity and eagerness to know the line progress. So on Monday evening, I just set off on a 1000+ Kms sojourn to see first-hand what progress the line has made.

Station Info:
Name: Khajjidoni.
No. of PFs: 1 and one Mainline.
Division: UBL.
Zone: SWR.
Address: Khajjidoni village, Bagalkot Taluk, Bagalkot District, Karnataka - 587204.

Line Info:
1. Some 30 Kms of the line is completed from Bagalkot.
2. Final Ballast packing has started at Sulikeri end and will complete till here in another week or 10 days.
3. Painting of station has completed at Sulikeri. Other 2 stations and this stations' will be done soon. RuBs and the height barriers were painted last week.
4. Tiling - the jigsaw type tiles work is completed partially and will be done soon.
5. As always in a new line, no signals or automatic track switching. Just one train system and manual switching of tracks.
6. Further land levelling is in progress.

1. The above info is whatever I could gather and assess to the best of my ability.
2. Can someone type Hindi name TL for this station? I am unable to type address TL, till the Hindi name is filled. I would like to do address TL :)
