History of Shalimar Express:- Both IR & PR launched their Inaugural Run on Fri Oct 01, 1982. IR train was Delhi-Jammu Tawi & PR train was Karachi-Sialkot. Later in 2002, PR Shalimar Express permanently made Karachi-Lahore. IR Shalimar Express was extended to Jaisalmer around 2017 or 2018 I guess. Now IRI website showing Last run of 14645/14646 Shalimar Express on January 31, 2024. Details of PR Shalimar Express can be found on click here & click here
Instead of going to Jaisalmer for 4 days & Barmer for 3 days, it will go daily to Barmer and Jaisalmer will get a new daily train instead.
