It was nearly 0800 hrs. The Mailani bound train was 30+ minutes late, I recall. Since a loco reversal is done here, I took the time to take a peek inside 3A. Couple of coaches I looked into and they had singular passengers inside since mostly this is an overnight train for pax on the GKP - LJN loop line. Then it becomes a day train for Lucknow - Sitapur - Mailani passengers who crowd the SL/GN coaches. I guess if someone books an SL seat from Lucknow to Sitapur can easily be upgraded since AC coaches are plenty and many seats are empty in them.

harshit~ 1019 blog postsThis is the status of berths occupancy in 3A, In Entire journey 6 coaches are fully vacant. What was the need of replacing 3SL coaches with 3A coaches where occupancy is Zero, People are rushing in 2General coaches and 4 SL coaches. This train was good when it was not LHB and running as dedicated and don't have RSA with Purvanchal Express. Till MLN-LJN It had more than 600 berths vacant, why anyone will book ticket of 3AC for 3hr journey. Instead of that much 3A coaches, 2s or CC Was needed.
This train was not needed at all bw LJN-MLN. NER should short terminate this again at GTNR give two ICF rakes with sensible Coach Composition and introduce a intercity bw LJN-MLN in place of it.

Yes today I travelled from this train and I was shocked to see only 4 sleeper coaches instead of 7 Sleeper coaches and 10 AC 3 coaches,I mean seriously..it is not a long distance train but still railways has decided to replace GS and SL..
Replacing sleeper coaches with 3rd AC coaches sounds feasible for Purvanchal express but why this siyappa with 15009/10..At least They should introduce 2 separate rakes for 15009/10 with at least 6GS,8SL ..From MLN to LJN this train is not even 15% occupied,I witnessed this multiple times.Unreserved passengers travel in SL because there are only 2General coaches.15009/10 was good when it doesn't have RSA with Purvanchal express.
