yes. it used to take 28 hours once upon a time. starts around 11pm and arrives around 3 am on both sides. i remember when i travelled hwh mail mumbai mail both had parallel dep in MAS. similarly they used to have back to back arrival in mas. catering like late ONT and early arrival in metro for regions between GTL and SUR. that kind of janata caterance is missing now.
CR/SCR/SR both are sleeping on the topic of Mumbai Chennai MainLine. all 3 are not interested in our route despite being a part of the golden quadrilateral line :p

sure sir. Even IRS coaches r fine for mail. one train like Andaman should be maintained in chennai mumbai section to cater most intermediate people caterance so that MAS LTT, MAS CSMT SF can take aggressive TT with limited stops.

Hope this materializes soon as existing TPJ ADI special is getting decent to good patronisation atleast in intermediate stretches..
Off to Delhi via a long route. Got lil work in Mumbai so taking this route. First Up to Pune in The Pune Shatabdi Express
