In my view the Biggest fault was rake standardisation ( reduction of sleeper and general and increase of 3E/3A).Even if there was a plan to do it, it should have been done slowly and at least experimented with overnight trains for short journeys instead of doing it for long distance trains across the country. The long distance trains especially route carrying migrant workers and routes with lots of rush there was no need to do standardisation at all. It was a big mistake

From my POV,

Strict laws must be implemented with heavy fines and punishments. Also, TTE Staffs must focus more on ticketless passengers and Railways should put pressure on them to control the movement of ticketless passengers. Of course, we don't have that much manpower to control these many passengers. But RB should focus on this and hire more manpower to control this.

They should bring a system like in metros. If there's no ticket, then no entry inside the premises. Also, they need to increase the SL & GS coaches or atleast introduce new Amrit Bharat trains.

To conclude this, heavy fines, severe checkings and Metro-type systems will create a fear in the ticketless passengers' minds and more focus on AB trains will be helpful for those passengers.

The main issue is that at most of the railway stations no one bothers to keep a check on anyone. Whether you hold a ticket or not or whether you're carrying an explosive, you can travel freely.

Second issue being railways reducing options for UR ticket travelers. Long distance GS coaches are so packed you can't keep a foot there. At places there's almost zero passenger/MEMU services. Where will daily travelers go, even if rake standardization is taken back?
...

Third a lot of people are habitual offenders, give them a rake full of GS coaches, they'll still stand in the vestibules of AC coaches. They'll abuse or threaten you if you ask them to leave your own seat. TTEs and RPF in most of the teains don't bother them.

So this problem needs a lot more planning and mitigation than just removing rake standardization or adding more Amrit Bharats. But IR officers are lazy, they come up with trains with absurd categories, timings and routes. So this would be asking for too much.

Although the picture is not so black and white. I've seen the whole train ticketless in ARA-SSM section. Whereas I've seen people having valid tickets even when boarding in the middle of jungle in BRK-MLN MG section.

SR proposes to make it a Bi weekly with the change of days of travel and with the same single rake . If it is approved by RB , it is very useful to the Darjeeling bound tourists.

It is very difficult for a single rake train to cover NJP-MAS biweekly😬

It requires another rake for the bi-weekly movement. If SR introduce another rake for this train, then they can utilise it for other trips as well after the NJP-MAS trip. It will reduce the W/L queue as well. This is somewhat decent and neat when compared to other trains on this route, except Humsafar and AC Exp.
