If you ever come to Pudukkottai by train, you will definitely need an auto, as the railway station is located far away from the main town.
Autos are available round the clock outside the station. A minimum fare of fifty rupees will be charged to go the New bus stand which is nearly 2 km from the station. Buses are not available except at the arrival time of 12605/ Pallavan express.
