Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) has decided to accelerate the 'Railway station development' plan with a view to developing important stations falling under its jurisdiction. The railways would build Multi-functional complexes (MFCs) at different stations of ECR with a view to improving passenger amenities.

more... to the growing needs of passengers, he said. Rajak said developers have been shortlisted for building MFCs at these two stations. While MFC at Gaya would cost Rs 4.61 crore, Patna Sahib MFC is likely to cost about Rs 3.38 crore. Work on these ambitious projects would begin soon, he said, adding railways would build MFCs at Raxaul, Hajipur, Dhanbad and Sasaram in the second phase.

Talking about amenities at these MFCs, the CPRO said they would have facilities like shopping, food plaza, restaurant, book stall, PCO, ATM, budget hotel and vehicle parking space. These facilities are available at world-class stations only, he said, adding railways would lease out its land under an agreement of 30 to 40 years to developers for building MFC.
