New Developments:
There have been several feature developments over the past couple of weeks. This is a brief listing of the same.
1. As many may have noticed, the login UI has been completely revamped. There's no popup anymore. You can now login/logout directly from a normal page. This has taken care of many issues where people were not able to login/logout from some browsers, due to the fickle nature of the lightbox popup before.

Along with the new login scheme, the Opera Mini/mobile site was also made available a couple of weeks back, although a timely announcement was not made. Already most of the site was mobile compatible, but login was problematic with Opera Mini. The mobile version of this site m.indiarailinfo.com takes care of the login problem (see pic). In most cases, the main site automatically detects and opens the mobile site where applicable.
3. A problematic aspect with Opera Mini previously was Blog Posting. This has also been redesigned for the mobile. The posting screen will appear right underneath the link, as opposed to the LightBox popup for the desktop. This makes blog posting convenient for a small form factor.
4. The Genie box UI for Opera Mini was somewhat frustrating as well - the lists were not appearing and/or the UI for the same was non-intuitive. The Suggest boxes are now different for mobile. Selecting items from the list will not be a problem anymore. Also, a Select button appears next to the search suggest box, to make the list appear.
5. Another important development with the Genie box is that even if the list does not appear, the search will proceed if just a train number or station code is entered, and the button is pressed. This change is effective for the desktop as well.
All of the above enhancements are rather subtle, do not add/subtract from the overall functionality of the site. They are intended to make frequent tasks less cumbersome.
