Those long distance trains running "through Indore": Jaipur-Secunderabad Meenakshi Express, Ajmer-Purna passenger, Ujjain-Akola passenger etc. Fatehabad bhi apne gulab-jamun ke liye famous tha kabhi. I once traveled from Indore to Ratlam by MG in 2010, tab kisi ne bataya ki Runija ki kachori acchi hai...

gautampura road ka masala dudh bhi famous tha. It used to very tasty. Also MG track maintenance was quite good only in the palia laxmibai nagar section trains used to crawl other wise they were hitting MPS and ride quality was also not that bas. I did engineering from mandsaur and passed out in 2006 and i used to take mhow cor passenger while going and for returning it used to be either 581 or 475 mhow cor passenger. BTW can you tell what is the status of doubling between neemuch and chittor and also what is the status of electrification

NMH-COR doubling is in full swing. Alongside existing track ballast has been placed and major bridge work is in progress. Hope by next year we have a double track in between these stations!. No progress on RTM-NMH electrification as of now. One company was started working on some section between Dhoswas and Jaora and later moved away without completing work. Now RTM division again opens tender for RTM-NMH electrification. Hope by next year both doubling and electrification target achieved in this section.

Update on electrification. In between Dhodar and Daloda station cement blocks are placed for OHE poles. I have not seen progress post Dhodar station!
