me and my friends went to baramula to attend friend's marriage. on 5 august at 12:30 am mobile network stopped working. soon we realized that something big is going to happen.
so we decide to leave as soon as possible. we reached baramula station at 5:30 am. after enquiring we came to know that trains will not run today. that was a shocking momemt for us. after 1 hour station master told us that train will leave at 7:30 .
we entered train and waits for the departure. at 7:30 train
...
departs baramula . we all were happy that we can reach our home safely.
everything was going good. but as we reached srinagar railway station , police came and told us that train wll not go further, so move out of train now.
the behaviour of police was not good.
after walking 2 kms we reached pantha chowk. we booked cab upto banihal . but as we entered jawahar tunnel we stuck in traffic jam. at 12:3o pm we entered jawahar tunnel and till 4:30 pm we were inside tunnel.
suddenly we came to know that government has removed article 370 and jammu - kashmir is union territory and ladakh is not a part of jammu and kashmir now.
we were very frustrated , so i told friends that we should walk upto banihal which was 12 kms away because there was no hope for traffic movement.
walking 12 kms with luggage was not easy, but there was no other alternative for us. after walking 1 km, someone told us that there is a shortcut through which we can reach banihal in 1 hour. after reaching that place we saw that the shortcut was very risky because that was high mountain.
and we have to walk down the mountain. i was very afraid because that path was very risky , it can lead to death also if someone slip.
so we start walking down the mountain, but it was very difficult for me to walk as my luggage was heavy. the path was very narrow . i slipped many times but my friends help me in walking. at 6 pm we reached banihal .
after changing 2 cabs i reached udhampur at 8 pm where as my friends went to their relatives .
i went to my friend's house. spend night there and reached home at 11 pm next day
for just 350 kms we took 30 hours.
you will not believe that all of us didnt eat anything whole day because we didnt got anything, even we dont get water to drink. but we didnt lose hope and we move on.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
