Finally got to capture India's solitary beak-faced loco for the third time. But the first time with my camcorder. Earlier on two occasions, I captured it with my mobile during my early days as a railfan.

WAM-4 6P of ASN shed blasts past Gangpur station on the 126 kms Shaktigarh- Sitarampur quadruple stretch of ER with the half an hour late running 15233 Kolkata Chitpur Terminal (KOAA)- Darbhanga (DBG) Bi-Weekly MAITHILI Express. This loco has quite a history. While belonging to Bhusawal shed, it was in blue-white ice cream livery with giant windscreen and air conditioned cab. It was back then declared as the Beauty-Contest Winner. Later the air-condition, giant wind-screen and also the unique livery was removed, and the loco was in the normal yellow-red livery. Then following a derailment, the loco was made to go through a POH, and was transferred to HWH. But HWH ELS shed repainted the extremely shabby looking loco in the WAP-4 livery, and then transferred it to ASN shed (along with all the WAM-4 that the shed had), the current home of this loco.
The train RSA with 15235/ 15236 Howrah (HWH)- Darbhanga (DBG) Weekly Express, and follows the KOAA- Burdwan- Asansol- Madhupur- Jasidih- Jha Jha- Barauni- Samastipur- Darbhanga route of ER/ ECR.
Giving me company on the trip were railfans Lubdhak Chatterjee, Anindya Roy, Vikramjeet Maitra, Anubhav Bhattacharjee, Rohit Basu, Suraj Iyer and Anaron Roy.
