Trivandrum - Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express takes nearly 8 hrs to reach Kannur....... This one takes 7 hr 10 min... Compared to the high fare VB will only be useful if it could reach Kannur by around 4 hrs. Then only it will have an advantage over other faster trains in the sector. Also it was noted that giving priority to VB created a late running of nearly 15-20 minutes for trains like Venad, Palaruvi, CLT Jan Shatabdi Express. Thus it is evident that KL lack the capacity to run faster trains in the current double line. When traffic congestion is more and VB runs with priority all other trains will have to be held up and this results in a chain of trains late running..... So a new 3rd or 4th dedicated lines should definitely be there for running faster trains like VB. Premium trains can be run in those tracks.
