So I took this train on May 14, 2023, and let me tell you about my experience. This was my first time traveling in First AC (usually I travel in Second AC) with my family of four. 1. Cleanliness: The coaches and curtains were old, and the staircases were dusty at first. However, the OBHS staff came and cleaned them from time to time. Even the toilets were clean. Overall rating=8/10 2. Punctuality: The train departed on time, but after BSL (I don't know why), it stopped at Savda for a long time. I complained on Twitter and got a quick response from BSL division. Eventually, the train was 2 hours late. It reached KYQ at 5:10 (1 hr 40 min late), but luckily I caught my connecting train, Avadh Assam Exp, which was even further behind LTT KYQ exp. Overall rating=7/10 3. Food: Day 1: Breakfast was good - I had Paneer pakoda. The veg thali (1st pic) for lunch was bad, except for the dal. Rice was not cooked properly and Matar Paneer was horrible. The sabji had literally nothing except a few pieces of aloo. For dinner, I ordered Veg Biryani (2nd pic) and Hakka Noodles (3rd pic) from Itarsi via E-catering. It was quite good and better than the lunch I had before. Breakfast=9/10 Lunch=2/10 Dinner=8/10 Day 2: Breakfast was awful - I had Cutlet. For lunch, I had Rajma Chawal and Soyabean Sabji with Roti, and it was average. For dinner, we all had Maggi Cup Noodles, which was quite tasty. Breakfast=3/10 Lunch=5/10 Dinner=9/10 Overall rating=6/10 Considering the food they served, I highly recommend bringing fruits and nuts. 4. Ticket availability: Even though it's First AC, it was peak time and I had to book 4 months in advance. We didn't get a seat number after booking, we got it during charting. For Second AC, there are 4 coaches, so it might be difficult, book it 4 months prior. For Third AC, there are 14 coaches, so you will easily get it. Overall rating=8/10 5. Railfanning: It was good. While passing through kasara ghat, I was literally standing near the door. After Igatpuri, the train reaches a speed of 110 kmph. Between MMR and JL, it reaches 130 kmph. Between DDU and DNR, it reaches 130-135 kmph. After that, it reaches around 90-100 kmph. Overall rating=10/10 6. Safety: Even though there is no RPF present, the attendants take care and make sure that no unreserved passengers board the train or sit near the doors. The train has a technical stop at Baruni, but the attendants close the doors and inform us that we can't go out. The train has fewer stops compared to the other 3 trains on the LTT-GHY route. Overall rating=10/10 I prefer this train on the LTT-GHY route because it has fewer stops and takes less time compared to the other 3 trains. 15945 has more stops in Bihar. 15647 takes the longer route via Kiul, Malda, and 22511, don't even ask, the punctuality is horrible. I hope the train gets extended to Dibrugarh.
