Maiden Journey in Talk of the Town

This Wednesday embarked upon a journey in JBP RKMP VB between it’s two ends. Boarded around 5:45am to realize others were excited alike me. People were comparing it with the enroute Janshatabdi, discussing about its return journey, informing acquaintances about their maiden trip in a VB, and also confused if it’ll go till INDB. The train departed exactly at 6, but did not gain any significant speed until KEQ. It sneaked through PF1 of MML at around 25-30kmph.
There

are electronic talk back units (ETBUs) amidst two windows, however, I’m skeptical about the utility of that many. The seats aren’t that comfy. (I find Janshatabdi 2S seats comfier) Whilst the charging points are at the perfect spot right below the seat, bottle stand is located just beside the footrest (thumbs down). Individual reading lamps are available, but scratches below the windows made it seem like an old rake. The inside train announcement can be improved with regard to the language, etc. Washroom is spacious in comparison with that in other LHB rakes. There is soap dispenser, drier and a fire extinguisher.
Post KEQ when the train clocked 108-109, Patrika newspapers and Rail Neer water bottles were served. Before NU tea kits were provided consisting of Chaayos Masala Tea Mix, two Marie Biscuits hand wrapped in foil (thumbs down), Stirrer and a Tray. There was a regulated run over river Balurewa at around 80kmph owing to the erosion last week. VB thrashed Janshatabdi at 109kmph at KY. Breakfast by Kundanlal Sahni and Company was served post GAR. It consisted of two Methi ‘namesake’ Theplas (they were thick Paranthas), Aalu Sabzi, Mother Dairy Dahi, Veg Upma, Lotte Choco Pie, Salt, Pepper and Sanitizer Sachets, Napkin, Wet Wipe, Spoon and a Tray.
VB arrived ET at 8:45 (10 min BT), and cruising at 130kmph arrived RKMP 10 min BT too at 10:25. RPF was visible every now and then. The best part of this journey was people making videos of the train at each and every station, whether halting or otherwise.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
