Recently travelled in this train from Secunderabad to Khammam, would like to give a detailed report of the journey.
We have arrived Secunderabad at 17:15 by the time 12604 chennai express stood on PF1 and was about to leave. When it started leaving a goods train came to PF2 and halted over there for few minutes. After Chennai Express got departed goods train on PF2 got also departed and then few minutes later Godavari Express reached Secunderabad around 5:30 PM. When we boarded the train we saw one more goods train passed through PF3. After few minutes Bhadrachalam road passenger got departed. Our train Godavari got departed around 17:50.
Started...
more... from Secunderabad and maintained the slowness till it crossed pitlines of Secunderabad. It had overtaken Bhadrachalam road passenger at Moulali with good speed. Later it got slowed down and maintained disselerations and accelerations till it reached Pagidipalli. In this span of journey it reached Ghatkesar at 18:20
Bibinagar at 18:30
Pagidipalli at 18:35
Later speed got improved and ran much faster. Nowhere it got slowed down or went into loop line. Maintained the good speed and reached Kazipet at 19:32. Halted in Kazipet for 6 minutes and started around 19:38. On that day Satavahana got delayed and left Warangal at 19:28 later on Kerala Express arrived at Warangal and left. When we were waiting in Kazipet in Godavari Express Kerala Express was at Warangal. Between Kerala and Godavari they have sent one goods train. Godavari had started from Kazipet and just after few minutes, before it got merged into Warangal section it was halted to pass the Goods train. We met 12705 Intercity Express between Warangal & Kazipet. Those who were travelling on that day in that train are so lucky because it got delayed on that day for very minimal. Usually it would be delayed for hours and will reach Secunderabad only after the calendar date got changed(Would arrive during midnights to Secunderabad). Godavari had reached Warangal by 19:57 and in two minutes it got started. Maintained the slowness till it reached Chintalapalli. It got halted over there for few minutes and again maintained slowness till it reached Nekkonda. At Nekkonda goods train was parked in mainline and Godavari overtook it through entering in loop line. At Kesamudram again it was halted and we met Manuguru - Belagavi Special occupied the Upline platform.
Our train crossed Chintalapalli at 20:23
Nekkonda at 20:35
Kesamudram at 20:48
And reached Mahabubabad at 20:59.
After departing from Mahabubabad it maintained very good speed till Dornakal and it was taken into loopline. On Mainline Satavahana Express was standing and already it was overtaken by Kerala Express which was running just ahead of us. And also it was overtaken by TamilNadu Express which was just running behind us. So on that day Satavahana Expres was on mainline and gave chance to overtook 3 other superfast trains. Godavari arrived Khammam at 21:35 and halted just for a minute and again started its journey.
Overall it was a pleasant journey.
In our entire journey we observed below points
1. Freight trains are moving in and out of Secunderabad station now a days frequently instead of taking bypass lines(might be bypass lines are only single line). With the increased number of freight trains Secunderabad station becomes so congested and impacting the passenger service movement.
2. Due to high priority to freight trains passenger services at outer and other stations are getting neglected which increasing so much of passenger services delayed.
3. Now a days freight services are giving much preference and sometimes they allowing chance to overtake passenger trains also.
4. Specials are being neglected since many years but this negligence is much more now.
5. On an average for every 5 minutes they are running a goods trains in Secunderabad zone which is of very much to than its capacity.
Thanks for reading it patiently
please wait...Translate to EnglishYo, recently took this train from Secunderabad to Khammam, gonna give you a full report on the journey. So we reached Secunderabad at 5:15 PM and the Chennai Express was about to leave from Platform 1. But then a goods train came to Platform 2 and stopped for a few minutes. After the Chennai Express left, the goods train on Platform 2 also left. Then, the Godavari Express arrived at around 5:30 PM. Once we boarded the train, we saw another goods train pass through Platform 3. After a few minutes, the Bhadrachalam Road passenger train left. Our train, the Godavari Express, left around 5:50 PM.
We started from Secunderabad and stayed slow until we crossed the Secunderabad pitlines. We overtook the Bhadrachalam Road passenger train at Moulali with some good speed. Then we slowed down and maintained some ups and downs until we reached Pagidipalli. We reached Ghatkesar at 6:20 PM, Bibinagar at 6:30 PM, and Pagidipalli at 6:35 PM. After that, the train's speed improved and we went much faster. There were no more slow downs or interruptions. We maintained good speed and reached Kazipet at 7:32 PM. We stopped there for 6 minutes and started again at 7:38 PM. That day, the Satavahana Express was delayed and left Warangal at 7:28 PM. The Kerala Express arrived at Warangal and left. While we were waiting at Kazipet, the Kerala Express was at Warangal. Between Kerala and Godavari, they sent a goods train. Godavari started from Kazipet and just a few minutes later, before it merged into the Warangal section, it was stopped to let the goods train pass. We met the 12705 Intercity Express between Warangal and Kazipet. Those lucky people on that train had minimal delays that day. Usually, it gets delayed for hours and only reaches Secunderabad after midnight. Godavari reached Warangal at 7:57 PM and started again in just two minutes. We stayed slow until we reached Chintalapalli. We stopped there for a few minutes and then stayed slow until we reached Nekkonda. At Nekkonda, a goods train was parked on the mainline, so Godavari overtook it by going into the loop line. At Kesamudram, we stopped again and we met the Manuguru-Belagavi Special train on the upline platform.
Our train crossed Chintalapalli at 8:23 PM, Nekkonda at 8:35 PM, Kesamudram at 8:48 PM, and reached Mahabubabad at 8:59 PM. After leaving Mahabubabad, we maintained a good speed until Dornakal, where we had to go into the loop line. The Satavahana Express was standing on the mainline and had already been overtaken by the Kerala Express, which was running ahead of us. It was also overtaken by the TamilNadu Express, which was running behind us. So that day, the Satavahana Express was on the mainline and gave a chance for three other superfast trains to overtake it. Godavari arrived at Khammam at 9:35 PM, stopped for just a minute, and then started again.
Overall, it was a chill journey. In our whole journey, we noticed a few things:
1. There are a lot of freight trains coming in and out of Secunderabad station nowadays instead of taking the bypass lines. With all these freight trains, Secunderabad station is getting so crowded and it's messing with the passenger service.
2. Because they prioritize the freight trains, passenger services at outer and other stations are getting ignored, and that's causing a lot of delays.
3. Freight services are getting more preference now, and sometimes they even let them overtake the passenger trains.
4. Special trains have been neglected for years, but now it's even worse.
5. They're running a goods train in the Secunderabad zone every 5 minutes on average, which is way more than it can handle.
Thanks for reading this, man.
