An imaginery train I created. This train still serves couple of purposes despite it's shortcoming[ The ideal would be reverse Shatabdi like Tejas runs but lack of overnight maintenance at AY makes it tough]. Still, it provides another evening connectivity to Ayodhya for Lucknow[ except GKP LKO VB] and Kanpur. This train is only ~20 minutes faster than the original runtime of the LKO Shatabdi back when it used to run b/w Delhi and Lucknow with only a single stop at CNB for loco change so the run is perfectly...
more... possible.
Higher speeds aren't possible in LKO-CNB section as of now due to speed constraints there. Only a 2 minute halt given at CNB because this train is meant to connect Lucknow and Ayodhya to Delhi more than it is geared for Kanpur [ the latter already has quite many trains ], including a dedicated Shatabdi of it's own. I wished to take it to Lucknow Jn, since VBs don't suffer from loco reversal problems, however, that would have involved taking a loop of Lucknow City and easily increased travel time by ~15 minutes. I didn't terminate it at ANVT since that station is far away from NDLS and whilst it would have been perfectly serviceable as a point had the train been originated from AY in morning and reaching ANVT in afternoon; but with these late night timings; IMO, NDLS or DLI is better.

/train/216852So I made up this train, right. It may have its flaws, but it still serves a couple of purposes. Like I wish it was like the Tejas runs, you know the reverse Shatabdi, but unfortunately they can't do overnight maintenance at AY, so it's tough. Even so, it gives you another evening option to get to Ayodhya from Lucknow, except for GKP LKO VB, and also to Kanpur. This train is only about 20 minutes faster than how long it used to take the LKO Shatabdi to run from Delhi to Lucknow with just one stop at CNB for a loco change, so it's totally doable.
But you know, they can't go all fast in the LKO-CNB section because of speed limits and stuff. They only stop for 2 minutes at CNB 'cause the whole point is to connect Lucknow and Ayodhya to Delhi, not really Kanpur 'cause they already got plenty of trains going there, including their own Shatabdi. I wanted to take it to Lucknow Jn, but then there'd be all this drama with loco reversal and stuff, and it would've made the travel time like 15 minutes longer. And I didn't wanna stop at ANVT 'cause it's far from NDLS and if the train started from AY in the morning and reached ANVT in the afternoon, then yeah, ANVT could've worked, but with these late night timings, in my opinion, NDLS or DLI is better.
