Gujarat High Court:

The Gujarat High Court has criticized the railway and forest department for their lackadaisical approach in investigating the deaths of three lions hit by trains within a month. The court found the investigation report submitted by the departments to be vague and an attempt to cover up the issue. The...

report mentioned only the suspension of a lion tracker, while higher officials seem to be escaping accountability. The court has ordered the Divisional Railway Manager to remove vegetation from the railway track in the Gir forest area and repair the fencing. The court also expressed concern over the lack of coordination between the railway and forest departments, highlighting that the forest department did not provide any information or input to the railway department. The court also criticized the railway department for increasing the speed limit of trains in the area despite earlier decisions to limit it to 20 km/h. The court pointed out that the unnecessary broad gauge project in the area is costly and will not prevent future accidents, emphasizing the need for prioritizing lion safety and conservation.

Gujarat High Court ne train se mare hue teen lions ke case mein railway aur forest department ko unki lazy investigation ke liye lambi chiddi mari hai. Court ne department ka report, jo ki unhone court mein submit kiya tha, ko vague aur cover up karne ki koshish maana hai....

Report mein sirf ek lion tracker ko suspend kiya gaya hai, jabki upar wale officers ki koi zimmedari nahi hai. Court ne Divisional Railway Manager ko Gir forest mein railway track se vegetation hataane aur fencing repair karne ka order diya hai.

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
