this train takes 3 hrs to reach pune(190 kms).that is about 60 kms per hour .so it cant be the fastest train on this route.except ghat section where it takes 50 min.that is ok.but otherwise it is a slow train
it is the 2nd fastest train on the rote..though it has the highest priority on the route...it is allowed 2 overtake any train on the route...and climbing the monkeey hill(29kms)...takes about an hour...u do 192-29=163..which is covered in 2 hours which is indeed 81.5kmph!!!!..eventhough wcam2(loco) is able to do only 105-110..it gets avg speed of 81.5 is a gr8 thing which only few prestigious trains r able to achieve, ,and btw its the only intercity train that has got the pantry car inluding taj express....and u wont understand its significance...i m travelling in this train since childhood..and anyway prefer travelling by railways rather than e-way cuz it has got the beautiful scenic beauty(speciall during rainy season)
This train does not take 1 hour in ghat section. Follwing is the time table
