Interesting rake sharing concept by WR
12997 / 98 has two dedicated rakes and has RSA with 22907 / 08. A very interesting Rake sharing concept has been devised by Rajkot Division of WR for these trains. Say there are two rakes - Rake A and Rake B. Rake A starts from TEN on Monday and reaches HAPA on Wed. Rake B starts from TEN on Tuesday and reaches HAPA on Thursday. The earlier Rake A which had reached HAPA on Wednesday starts as 22907 HAPA-MAO on Thursday. Rake B which had reached HAPA on Thursday does not share rake but starts as 12998 from HAPA on Friday and reaches TEN on Monday, to restart as 12997...
more... from TEN on Monday itself. Meanwhile Rake A which had gone as 22907 to MAO returns as 22908 on Saturday, and starts as 12998 from HAPA on Saturday. Now comes the interesting part, Rake A is in RSA with 22907 / 08 while Rake B has reached TEN on Monday. So now Rake B starts from TEN as 12997 on Monday to reach HAPA on Wednesday and now converts into 22907 / 08 for HAPA – MAO – HAPA. While Rake A returns on Friday as 22908 to HAPA and starts as 12998 from HAPA on Saturday to reach TEN on Monday to start as 12997 from TEN on Tuesday and thus the cycle continues. The rake for 22907 / 08 alternates every week between Rake A and Rake B and thus with two rakes, three pairs of trains are managed by WR. Isn’t this a very imaginative idea from WR??
