experience at nizamuddin parcel office
my uncle had sent me bed(packed in pieces) from rjy by booking parcel over there. I was there when parcel came fine by swarnajayanthi express and they unloaded onto platform. I haven't collected at that time because i don't have the challan with me and it was couriered to me separately. SO when I received the challan 2days later(via courier) I went to collect my parcel from nizamuddin parcel office. When I approached the counter and presented the receipt, I was told that this parcel info is not available in the register so he cannot issue gate pass. staff who is sitting on the platform and check with him. When I approached him he said the parcel is lying on the platform and he signed something on my challan and told me to go the counter and get the gate pass. So when I approached the counter again for gate pass I was told to godown incharge and get signed by him. When I approaced godown incharge he asked me to get the parcel from the platform so that he will verify physically. But at this point no porter is willing to carry the parcel from platform to parcel office without gate pass. Because of this I approached the staff on the platform but he haven't responded properly and complaining me like that I had to pay penalty because parcel is lying with them for the past 2days, I told him I was willing to pay the penalty. Then after this point he instructed to some staff and then one porter agreed to bring the parcel to the godown. After this they had issued the gate pass without seeing the parcel. This whole thing took me 4hrs.... I guess if somebody has to deal with these people means they have to plan for worst case.......
