Siddharth S^~ 23615 blog postsIf you are going to Chennai suburbs on the AJJ-MAS line, this train is quite convinient in the day time for its halt at Tiruvallur. A local EMU from Kadambattur generally leaves once this train crosses Kadambattur to Chennai Central and also majorly lands up on the same platform as this train- If you are an unreserved ticket holder changing to that train is easier as another local ticket is not required and it connects to the stations of tirunindravur, avadi, ambattur etc-so overall gives a good connectivity with that connection

But in Mumbai I think one can board a local from KYN to any suburbs like Mulund or Dombivili even if one has a reserved seat. I guess we can do the same there also. Also passengers heading towards the MSB-TBM line can book tickets upto TBM on NIGHT TRAINS only and change to an EMU at Park
A TTE on a EMU on TRL-Ambattur route told me once that you have a reserved ticket you cant use it in the Chennai local-that was in early morning local from tRL to Ambattur after getting down from kaveri
the railways should allow like kyn to ght suburb station. any adm can high light this . then will be useful for passengers
