Yercaud is a popular hill station in Tamil Nadu after Ooty and Kodaikanal. Yercaud is situated at a distance of 40 km from Salem city and offers a much needed short break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

How to reach: Salem Junction is the nearest railhead, 30 km away by road. TNSTC / SETC buses are available from New Bus Stand. The frequency is good. One may alternatively hire a cab to reach Yercaud. Plenty of accommodation options are available to suit every pocket.

Once I went to Yercaud when I was Studying Degree. We had an Excursion and this place was Awesome with Scenic Beauty, Specially that Lake which is located at the Centre Offers Boat Ride(Pedal).

One way taxi fare is about Rs. 600. Buses are very crowded during weekends. Some pics shot during my visit last year. My friend loves posing in every photo which I hate. Try mirichi bajji when you visit the lake. Buy cheap coffee beans at Glenmorgan estate. If you are there on a sunday visit weekly shandy(sandai) to buy cheap spices from Kolli Mallai(Fire Hills) tribals.
