Hello all, This is Rakesh here from Chandigarh.
Can I book a ladies quota ticket for my mother if she is not capable to stand in queue in railway ticket counter?
If yes, then why a ticket counter person did not give me ticket today?
Still there is showing 1 seat available in Ladies quota in Train no. 13256 (CDG PPTA EXP) for 17-11-2014
at 6:17 p.m.
I have bought 1 ticket is waiting list for my mother at 11:34 a.m. today for 13256 Train. Come to home and check the ladies quota at 12:00 p.m. The computer was showing 2 seat available in Ladies quota in Train no. 13256 (CDG PPTA EXP) for 17-11-2014
I called at 139 five times but did not get any satisfaction action.
Again I check the ladies quota at 6:17 p.m. The computer was showing 1 seat available in Ladies quota in Train no. 13256 (CDG PPTA EXP) for 17-11-2014
Now what I do?
I want hard action against that counter person who has not given me 1 ticket for my mother in in Ladies quota in Train no. 13256 (CDG PPTA EXP) for 17-11-2014

Y can't the railways have ticketing vending machines or kiosks every 10 Km radius in cities like bank ATMs wouldn't that be excellent and for gods sake simple ones not the ones which can have govt like red tape software pls that it becomes next to banging ur head, maybe in or near govt premise so that govt doesn't need to shell out extra towards land cost & operated 24 hrs service as it use increases can increase its numbers charge 5 rs extra for its maintance and installation on each ticket which will be acceptable to the public when u weigh the. Cost to benefit it would usher in

That's the reason vs hd not to frown upon technology and experience from any part of the world be it foreign or indian we should accommodate . for centuries v have been masters of that it just a few centuries of British rule which have made us skeptics but embrace it we must if we r to stride along and be a lead, fm rest of the pact, set standards and quality which should never be compromised let's aim for the finest & our children will have the best not just ur children I meant the future populace wen v compromise u know that our children will be lazy then it becomes a pattern stop it and strive hard , not to fall into complacency.

So u do understand theoritically so good but practically,Money has value only if used otherwise it is just paper better still tissue paper as inflation will eat into it so use it ,can u tell me y in many countries the rates of indian currency r one to hundreds in fact 1dollar =60 rs so practically we r 60 times less productive or 1/60 productive (too much of indian paper floating around without being put to good use so no value),Infact sum of our productivity is our GDP or value of that paper not what color of paper v hold as currency

2017 impossible. It will take atleast 20-25 years to covert all passenger coaches to LHB.

I am very much practical but only you are not. arre bhai who will allocate funds to IR or the coach factories to upgrade facilities and manufacture. IR don't have that much resources as it has to simultaneously fund track and station maintenance and construction, construction of the ongoing projects etc. Central govt isn't going to give extra money, most of their money is spent on defence and then on infrastructure, education, healthcare and loan repayments to world bank etc. But fast production of LHB needs many fully automatic manufacturing plants, so huge investment is required. So we need money which we can get only by PPP-model. For PPP a lot of paperwork needs to done which include tender floating, bidding, selection process and then many agreements, clauses etc which takes a lot of time. Then setting up of new plants, extension and upgrade of the existing plants(RCF Rae Bareilly hasn't...
started production of its full scale and ICF Perambur has involved into LHB production very recently). For that a lot of land needs to be acquired which is a big hurdle in all industrial projects in the country. Before construction of the factories, environmental and other clearance has to be obtained. Then there will be obstruction from workers unions which govt organisations always face. To generate revenue, IR will try to further increase fares which will become an indigestible thing for the common man. And with LHBs and its manufacturing there are many technical issues as mentioned in a previous comment by "dsp.hp" sir and so many fuel guzzling EOGs isn't a very economical option.
DON'T get my statement wrong, I am not against LHB. IR will be fully LHBfied and even I want that to happen as soon as possible but it will take time even if fast and correct measures are taken. IR has 62,924+ passenger coaches(which even the Japanese and French don't have) and to fully replace them with LHB coaches, it will take minimum 10 years from now.
GDP and the value of currency will only increase when productive things happen, but to make it happen there are hurdles and "PRACTICALLY" it takes time and RBI(not all banks) can print money as much as it wants.

U don't need those many trains or coaches if u can get ready made speed trains at least were passengers r. Plenty v after all hav population who irrespective of the cost will use and one fine day u will recognize the cost is no more &travel r communication r the need of the hr & wheels of the economy

It's time v have a shatabdi from kozhikode or mangalore to TVC both lines which can keep at least 120 kmh stopping alternate stns stops to reduce travel time to max 5-6hrs working like a metro or can,t a metro line be placed on top of the train line itself there by getting rid of land cost and other trains stopping and people getting tickets in kozhikode itself to travel(those trains who come from north can start back from this point after dropping passengers who will get free tickets 2 travel with their point to point tickets). Has a feasibility study ever been contemplated to that direction

If u can think out of the box maybe u can connect a ac chair car or two for short duration travel with the Kerala express may be LHB coaches preferably do ponder on it u will make more moolah & giv more comfort to other paasengers , consider it top prirority

Y not and let's have 50% off on any connecting travel chains to different places esp eg shatabdi etc u will retrieve the cost as u achieve a faster movement of the populace by bringing more people to travel and efficiency as will be seen by increased travel point to point pls join in this endeavor
