I have read a lot that sometimes RPF check mobile phone of commuters to check for any pornographic evidence, etc and harass the travelers for a bribe. “GRP and RPF cops target persons who look illiterate and won’t create any hue and cry. They check the mobile phones of the passengers waiting on the platforms, though they don’t have any authority to do so, and if they find any obscene content in the phone, they threaten the possessor with prolonged jail sentence or a penalty of lakhs of rupees. The people then pay off the cops. If somebody refuses to pay up, they beat him up.
Have any one come across such an experience?

Yes it happens. Even an IIT Bombay student was harassed like this. I think there is no law in India against the possession of pornographic content. Only thing you cant sell it.

Apron work might also include Points and Signalling work in which diverting the train is more preferred as it may create bottle neck at the station, especially stations with high amount of traffic. There was signalling work going on at Karmali once and we were halted for 1.5hrs and 1 hours just to pass the station.

When you see flushed PNR, it could mean that the number you entered is "wrong". It could also mean that the you are referring to a very very old ticket. Since we have a limited number number of digits, viz., 10, there could be a total number of 10 to the power of 10 (ie., 10 billion) numbers. Owing to the fact that there are millions of railway travellers a month, this 10 digit numbers will run out easily, especially in countries in India and US where the population is high. This will enforce the government of India to flush the PNR numbers when the same is no longer required. Don't worry, your PNR number will not be re-issued to another railway passenger for a reasonably long time, so your privacy is guaranteed by Indian Railways.

Usually PNR is flushed (Removed) from system (ir site) after two days of last day of journey.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
